Teaching is a matter of heart. Teachers aren't created they are born. We don't do it for glory or the pay. We do it because of the kids.
Any teacher worth her salt will come early and leave late. Summers are not just times to rest and restore the batteries they are times to learn and get ready for the next year.
A very wise woman once told me that a truly great teacher could do her job with just the contents of her purse. I adhere to this.
I don't whine when I don't have what I need. I pull myself up by my run laden panty hose and I go forward.
Yes, the hours are often long and I don't get extra money for those hours but in the end I can look back and really say that I contributed.
